LIVE eSports Cycling World Championships With Timothy Rugg

Join Timothy Rugg at Sage Bird as he races, live in the taproom, in the UCI 2023 Cycling eSports World Championships! Come on by and support Rugg as he closes out a career in professional cycling that he started in Harrisonburg, VA many years ago and as he rides into the next one.

Timothy Rugg earned a spot on Team USA qualifying during race qualifiers late last year, breaking away solo from some of the best cyclists in North America.

This race is as much a "Retirement Party" from elite-level racing for Rugg as it is a chance to cheer on Team USA as they race virtually in Glasgow, Scotland (Home of the 2023 IRL Cycling World Championships) on Saturday, February 18th at Sage Bird Ciderworks!

LIVE COMPETITION It all starts with 100 racers. Only 30 advance to round two, where just 10 riders make it into the final. Each race is about 20 minutes, so get ready to see some ridiculously fast times. Round three will see 10 people fighting for a place in record books and the privilege of wearing the rainbow jersey for a year.

TEAM USA has the largest team and big hopes to win the World Championship jersey having qualified the most racers for the event, hosted on the Zwift virtual racing platform.

There will be a live feed with race announcers explaining what is going on & Rugg will be in the taproom participating in the virtual international race!

11:00 am - Sage Bird opens. Timothy Rugg will be on site setting up and available to explain the event. 12:15 - Race Weigh-In 12:15 - 1:15 Warm-up and Final setup. 1:15PM - Race #1 of 3 Begins.

Outskirts Food Truck will also be open, serving brunch & lunch!
