ARTIST STATEMENT My name is Phoenix Flaxman (he/him) and I am a trans and neurodivergent artist and Co-Owner of local Harrisonburg business Deviant Kreations. My artwork varies a lot, from changing up my personal art style to switching between or even mixing mediums. I often challenge myself to try new things artistically and am not afraid to push outside of my comfort zone to try out a new technique or medium. Regardless of the piece or the medium used, you can expect to see an intriguing use of texture, colors (or lack-thereof), and an incredible attention to detail. I primarily aim to make art that I enjoy making, that makes me feel artistically fulfilled. If any of my artworks appeal to and resonate with others in the same way, then I am thrilled.
