Stop by The North Wing in September to see Kathleen Johnston's exhibition, "Windows."

ARTIST STATEMENT Lines connect to create shapes. Shapes are filled with color. Lights and darks push and pull in a play of dominance. A sense of space emerges. The small spaces interact, communicating with one another. I hear, see, and feel stories when looking into these windows.
Kathleen Johnston is an artist living in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is originally from Roanoke, VA. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from James Madison University in 1997.
She has been an art educator in Harrisonburg City Schools for many years & is passionate about helping others tap into their creativity and develop a lifelong love of art.
She is now concentrating on painting full-time in her studio. Her work has been displayed locally in solo and group exhibitions at the Wooden Trout Art Gallery, the Joshua Wilton House, Bridgewater College, VMRC, the Wine-Riner Gallery at Larkin Arts, the Wilson Downtown Gallery, Ciders From Mars in Staunton, and The Frame Factory.
